Day 48: Vace Italian Deli

Vace Italian Delicatessen

Looking for the taste of Italy?  Over 30 years ago Blanca and Valerio Calcagno (can you get anymore Italian than that?) opened their small Italian grocery and deli.  This is a small gem of a place located at 4705 Miller Avenue (the small street that connects Woodmont Avenue and Wisconsin and runs just north of Eastham’s Exxon).  They are open most days 9-8 (sometimes 9 pm) and 10-4 on Sundays.  The pizza is just out of this world good.

Vace's wide selection of Italian goods

They make their own home-made fresh-cut pasta and a selection of home-made frozen pastas, entrees, and sauces to enjoy back at your place.  The shop is pretty small and gets real busy around lunch time as the office crowd piles in to enjoy their selection of subs on fresh-baked Italian bread and Foccacia Sandwiches.  For a little over 5 bucks you can enjoy fresh Mozzarella, basil, sun-dried tomatoes on Focaccia bread with a dash of Balsamic vinegar.  Yummmmmy!   This family owned and operated business won’t let you down.  Check out the Vace website and enjoy some fun authentic Italian music! ~Brian
